Richard is a technology startup executive with extensive experience in finance, business development and technology. Richard joined Dispersive in 2013 as its Chief Financial Officer and Director of Corporate Development and served as the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer from 2016-2018. Previously, Richard was the Chief Investment Officer of Five States Energy Company, where he also held the positions of CFO and Director of Business Development. During that time, he cofounded Ensovi, LLC, a research-and-development-stage biotechnology company that is developing an enzymatic platform for producing organic chemicals through artificial photosynthesis.
Prior to joining Five States, Richard founded Taconic Partners, a Texas-based consulting firm focused on startup and early-stage companies. Before that, he was a senior consultant with Towers Perrin, where he specialized in strategic planning and organizational development for multinational energy companies. Richard began his career as a sales engineer for Reliance Electric Company.
Richard has served on numerous private boards of directors. He holds a BBA degree in finance from Baylor University and an MBA degree from the University of Texas at Austin where he received the Sord Scholar and Dean’s awards. He is also an alumnus of the Dallas chapter of the Young Presidents Organization.
